Besan Ladoo Recipe – A Traditional Indian Sweet

Besan Ladoo is a classic Indian sweet made with gram flour (besan), ghee, and sugar. These melt-in-the-mouth laddoos are rich, aromatic, and perfect for festivals or special occasions.

Ingredients:

2 cups gram flour (besan, finely ground)

1 cup powdered sugar

½ cup ghee (clarified butter)

½ teaspoon cardamom powder

2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds, cashews - optional)

Instructions:

Roast the Besan – Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on low flame. Add besan and roast it while stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma (about 15-20 minutes).

Add Cardamom & Nuts – Mix in cardamom powder and chopped nuts. Stir well and turn off the heat.

Cool the Mixture – Let the mixture cool slightly, but not completely. It should be warm to touch.

Add Sugar – Once warm, add powdered sugar and mix well until fully combined.

Shape into Laddoos – Take small portions and roll them into round laddoos using your palms.

Let Them Set – Place the laddoos on a plate and let them set for a few minutes.
